Two Google cards for one shop
A customer who sees two listings for the same shop does not know which one to trust. Reviews split. Hours disagree. Calls go to the card that happens to rank that hour.
On this page, duplicate means two cards for one shop, or the same phone number sitting on more than one listing for that shop. A site that uses a tracking number is a different issue. We do not treat a phone mismatch alone as a keep fact.
How to see this on a live listing
- Search the business name and city on Google Maps.
- Scan the results for a second card with your name, your address, or your old name.
- Search the phone number that is printed on the door. See how many cards use it.
- Open both cards. If they describe the same shop, you have a duplicate.
Write down both names exactly as they appear. One card may be the one you already claimed. The other may be leftover from a move, a renamed shop, or a second profile someone created after they could not sign in.
What to do
Google's rule is one Business Profile per business. The official guide is Resolve duplicate profiles and ownership issues.
- If you created a second profile by mistake, remove the extra one from the account that owns it.
- If two cards exist on Maps, request a merge by reporting a suggestion on Google Maps. Google reviews merge requests.
- If another account verified the card you need, request ownership. Do not invent a third listing.
- If you moved, update the address on the existing profile. Google's help page says not to create a new profile for the new location.
An unclaimed profile is often how the second card started. Claim the right one. Then close the extra.

Questions owners ask
What counts as a duplicate Google listing here?
Two Maps cards for one shop, or the same phone number sitting on more than one listing for that shop. A tracking number that does not match the site is not the test we use on this page.
How do I see a duplicate on Maps?
Search the business name and the phone. If two cards describe the same shop at the same place, or the same phone appears on two cards for that shop, you are looking at a duplicate.
What does Google want me to do?
Google allows one Business Profile per business. If you created a second profile by mistake, remove it. If two cards exist on Maps, request a merge by reporting a suggestion. Google's help page on duplicate profiles and ownership issues covers those paths.
