Your Google listing has no hours
A customer who cannot tell when you are open will call the shop that posted a schedule. Hours are a field on the Maps card. Leaving them blank is a public problem.
People check hours before they check your about page. They do it on the Maps card, often on a phone, often while they are already in the car. If the card has no hours, they move on.
How to see this on a live listing
- Search your business name and city on Google or Maps.
- Open your card.
- Look for a weekly schedule. Monday through Sunday, open and close times.
- If that row is missing, or it says hours are not available, the listing has no hours for customers to use.
Compare the card with the homepage. If the site lists hours and Maps does not, the two public pages are already out of sync. That drift is the subject of Google listing vs website.
What to do
You need access to the Business Profile. If you cannot edit the card, start with the unclaimed listing page.
When you can edit, open the profile, choose Hours, set main hours for each day you are open, and save. Google's steps are in Edit your business hours. Use special hours for holidays. Use more hours if a service (delivery, takeout) runs on a different clock.
Set the hours that are true this week. A closed day should say closed. A lunch break should be two time blocks on that day, which Google's help page also covers.
louislynn scored 11,267 South Carolina businesses in the 2026 Digital Presence Index (11,534 collected, 11,267 after the v1.1 audit). Hours are one of the public fields that study can see from the outside.
Send the listing to a person
Run the check on your website. A person looks at the public page and the Maps card, then emails what to fix within 24 hours.
